ParosPro (Desktop Edition):


You can use the Update Manager to update new patches. You can find the Update Manager under the "MileSCAN ParosPro" folder in the Start Menu.


Yes.  When there is a new version a notification message will appear when you start the ParosPro. When you see the notification message, go to "Help" in the main menu and then click "Check for New Releases" to download the new version.


You can pay the annual subscription fee via our website to receive the new license file. Then, start the ParosPro, in the Help section of the main menu, click "Import License File...", and you can select the license file from the file chooser and click OK.


Apart from the 30-day limitation and IP restriction, you cannot use the proxy chain for both the Spider and Scanner. Also a message will appear every time you start the ParosPro Trial during the trial period.


Yes. You can contact us via email to request for a trial version which allows you to scan your company’s public IP address. We would then send you a license file to upgrade your trial version.


Yes. You may select the project to be saved in the Project Menu tree. Either right click or click on "File" in the main menu, and click Save Project as. Choose the directory and file name you want to store the project and click "OK".


The Spider engine can handle pages with JavaScript. Users can turn on the JavaScript engine either in the Global Settings… under the "Settings" menu or under the "Options" when creating URL Spider or IP Spider tasks. On the other hand, the spider currently does not support AJAX. However, you can manually record the Ajax traffic using the built-in proxy and then perform a vulnerability scan.


Yes, it handles the most common user logon system.  However, for some complicated logon systems like two-factor authentication and CAPTCHAs, they are not currently supported.


You can view the site hierarchy under Site Hierarchy under the same project. You can select the root node of the Site Hierarchy, right-click and select Export Whole Tree to HTML.


Open the saved project. Under the Project Menu, select your project and the submenu Task History. The records of your previous scan will be listed. You can select a scan record and expand the split bar at the bottom to see previous results.



ParosPro (Server Editions):


The email notification for registration and scanning results will be disabled. Administrators may modify email settings in the Setting -> Server Configuration menu after logon the system.


All of the functions of the Server Edition will be disabled except the user/admin/provider logon. Administrators may logon to the system and click "Settings" on the menu bar which will be redirect you to the Server Configuration page. The web service settings can be correctly set here.


The scan data is currently stored in cached HSQL. Providers may remove the cache in Setting -> Server Setting and click Delete under the “Database Information” section.
Note: The deletion will affect the generation of the PDF report.


The disk space required is about 100MB for a scan on 500 links.


Currently installing update patches is not supported.


Plugins can be updated through our update server. There is a update interface in Setting -> Updated.


The license can be renewed in Setting -> License Renewal. There is only one license required in this version. Admin may renew the license.


Yes, but the server will need to be restarted in order to use the new configuration. The user which updates the configuration will need access to the file as well as permissions to restart the web server.
NOTE:It is suggested that the configuration of the system should be done through the web interface rather than directly from the file.

The time that the scanning takes depends on numerous factors. It includes the configuration of the scan, the scan policy, the network speed and the server load. Under normal circumstances, a scan with basic scan policy requires around an hour to complete on a normal website with approximately 500 web pages and dynamic pages.


The system can handle pages with JavaScript. Users can turn on the JavaScript engine in the Spider Settings when creating and modifying scan plans or change the global settings of JavaScript in Settings -> Default Global Settings. The system currently does not support AJAX.


Currently user logon is not supported.
